Living the spirituality of the Sacred Heart in everyday life.
The Lay Dehonians are men and women who share in the spirituality and mission of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ) while living their vocation in the world. Inspired by the charism of Father Leo John Dehon, they seek to make known the love of the Heart of Jesus through prayer, family life, professional work, and service to others.
Lay Dehonians strive to be “Prophets of Love and Servants of Reconciliation” in their homes, workplaces, parishes, and communities. United with the Dehonian Family, they participate in the mission of reparation, compassion, justice, and evangelization, bringing the values of the Gospel into everyday life.
Their spirituality is rooted in:
Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Prayer and reflection on God’s Word
A spirit of oblation and self-giving
Solidarity with the poor and vulnerable
Commitment to reconciliation and peace
Being a Lay Dehonian is not simply membership in an association; it is a way of life shaped by the love of Christ. Through regular meetings, formation, prayer, and acts of charity, Lay Dehonians grow together in faith and support one another in living out the Dehonian charism.
Whether single, married, young, or old, all are invited to deepen their relationship with Christ and to become witnesses of His compassionate love in the world today.
